Tiverton High School is a school located in the Tiverton district of Rhode Island. It is found in a rural area about 5 miles from an urbanized area.
The school includes grades 9-12. There is a total of 654 students and 56 full time teachers, which is significantly more than the average for all Public Schools. The superintendent of the school is William J. Rearick and the principal is Steven M. Fezette. The mission statement of Tiverton High School is as follows "Tiverton High School enables every student to reach their highest potential by establishing a curriculum that meets or exceeds government standards for education; providing extracurricular programs that develop children’s’ mental, physical and social skills; and partnering with parents and the community to create an environment geared to the success of all students." As a high school in Rhode Island, Tiverton High School educates children from ninth through twelfth grade. Throughout their years here, students will learn the basics of topics they will someday need to know. High School prepares students to be successful at the college level or whatever career path they choose to follow. Tiverton High School is located in Tiverton, Rhode Island. Tiverton has 4 bordering towns that all range in socioeconomic class. The four bordering towns are Portsmouth, Bristol, Fall River,MA and Middletown. Tiverton is a good area in Rhode Island with a median household income just slightly under the median household income for the state of Rhode Island. Tiverton spans 36.3 square miles in area which makes it one of the larger towns in Rhode Island when comparing it to other towns. Tiverton does not currently have a mayor. According to the 2005-2009 census, the median house hold income for a household in Tiverton RI was $59,245. Rhode Island's average house hold income is stated to be $54,902 which makes Tiverton roughly $5,000 higher. The median family income of Tiverton is $71,370 which is only roughly $1,000 more than the median family income for Rhode Island ($70,663). The poverty level for families in Rhode Island is 8.4%. In Tiverton, the poverty level for families is significantly reduced to about half of the percentage for Rhode Island (4.0%). With this being said, this means that these families which includes an average of four people or less, are making less than $28,707 per year in Rhode Island. Including Tiverton High School, the Tiverton School District is composed of 5 schools total. They are all run by superintendent William Rearick. The student to teacher ration for the Tiverton School District is one teacher to every nine students, which is also the same as Central Falls High School in Providence R.I. (1:9) (Rhode Island Kids Count, 2011). Teacher to student ratio is a very important component in the way a school system operates. Often times, when a school has a large number of students in a classroom and not enough teachers, the students will not be able to get the attention they need to excel in their school work. According to the 2005-2009 census, 3% of teachers in Rhode Island are not highly qualified to be teaching. Teachers should be highly qualified to teach all levels of education. In the Barrington and Tiverton School Districts, all of the current teachers are high qualified. In Central Falls, 4% of the teachers are not highly qualified which is why it is known to be one of the worst school districts in Rhode Island.

TIverton High School is a high school located on North Brayton Road in Tiverton, Rhode Island. This school holds 654 students and 56 teachers. Run by principal Steven M. Fezette, Tiverton High School provides a great education. Tiverton can be compared to Barrington High School. Barrington has been know to be one the most educated and well off towns in the state of Rhode Island. Tiverton does have about the same test scores to Barrington High School and a much greater percentage than Central Falls High School which is located in Providence, R.I. Barrington and Central Falls stand on completely opposite ends of the spectrum in many ways such as their location, education and just overall community. After carefully analyzing the percentages of the 11th grade children who succeeded on the NECAP testing for the overall state, scores for Tiverton High School surpassed Rhode Island by a significant amount in all areas.

Conclusion
Overall, Tiverton HIgh School is a great school and has a positive effect on their students. Many families in this town, should consider sending their children to this public high school. Many children have excelled and taken their choice of further education after graduating from Tiverton High School. Tiverton High School has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere making it the perfect place for students in 9th-12th grade to get the proper education they need.
